Also, as you said, this is a "user forum". Consistent "whining" and complaining does actually often times get companies to work faster. Paying users are fully entitled to whine about Evernote's poor customer service (in this case). I didn't quote and comment on you posting a workaround. That you posted workarounds is helpful to those new to the thread. The issue is not whether it is being worked on. I think it is clear to anyone on this thread that it is being worked on. They think if they keep posting the same thing as other posts, the problems will get solved faster. It is not unknown for files on download sites to be already corrupt, so be prepared for the possibility that the fault lies in the files themselves.Some people might not be aware that its a known problem and being worked on For safety's sake, in this last case, don't open the unzipped files before you get them onto the Performa. The former may be able to be addressed by:ġ) opening StuffIt first, and then decoding the downloaded files from theĢ) downloading the files again, in case the downloads were already corrupt when they arrived, and expanding them on the Performa 200/Classic II ģ) using an earlier version (say, StuffIt 3) of your expander for unzipping Ĥ) unzipping the downloaded files with StuffIt 5 on a later Mac running up to OS 9. Hold down command-option at startup (or restart), and keep them held down until the Finder asks whether you rilly, rilly, rilly wish to rebuild the Desktop, and then click OK. You can address the latter by 'rebuilding your Desktop'. The usual reason for loss of specific form in icons (ie, the appearance of a generic icon: a blank page with turned-down corner) is that either the parent application is not present on the drive, or that the Desktop files have lost their way.
